For other uses of this term, see Pelasgo. In Greek mythology, Pelasgo (in ancient Greek, Πελασγός) was, according to the Argives, son of Foroneo and Europa, or of Tripopes, king of Argos, and Sois, being then brother of Yaso, Agénor and Janto and father of Larisa and Hypothus, and he took the Danaids into the house when they were fleeing from Egypt, and had a temple built for Demeter, who also stayed in his house when he was looking for his daughter Persephone: Pausanias says that the sanctuary of Demeter was in the agora of Argos, and that not far away was the tomb of Pelasgo.
