Mailbomb

A mail bomb is a flood of many and / or large e-mails intended to lame the receiving computer.

Receiving and processing emails requires a certain amount of time from the receiving computer and usually also has a limited storage capacity. An unexpectedly large range of emails can lead to overload, which means that the computer in question will no longer be assigned to other tasks. In the (common) case of poorly designed software, the computer may even crash. In case of limited storage capacity, the receipt of further mail will be made impossible until the mailbox with incoming mail is emptied.

Of course, sending e-mails with such an intention is desirable and may cause the ISP to block access to the perpetrator.
