Pedro Regalado Llamas


Colonel Pedro Regalado Llamas was an insurgent from Colima who maintained the Insurgency for the Independence of Mexico in Colima. He was born in the town of Colima on May 18, 1787. Regalado Llamas, together with his Uncle Manuel Llamas, joined the struggle for independence on September 30, 1810. They fought the realists in the territory of Colima and were known like "The Regalado". On May 17, 1813, he was given the task of clearing the roads through which the troops of General José María Morelos would pass, and sending food to the strategic sites between Zaxatula and Maquìlì, so that Sergeant Manuel Llamas was asked for half of their riflemen and that they be sent to the headquarters of Maquilí. Pedro was passed by the arms in Colima the 14 of March of 1814, leaving widow to his wife Petra Covarrubias. He was buried by the presbyter Joaquín Ortega in the Parish of Colima.
