A talent hunt is an event that attempts to detect new talents through a contest or competition. This talent can cover various disciplines, such as excellence in sports, music, theater or television.
A talent hunt can take many forms. For example, there are scouts who visit football matches try to find new football talent. But most of the time it is an organized meeting that allows different participants to hear or see them in a particular field of expertise, and where a jury or the audience judges the performance. Examples of talent yachts on television include New Harvest, Cabaret of the Unknowns, Pats Boem Show, Soundmixshow, Idols, Showmasters, X Factor, The Voice of Holland and The Winner. The Belgian girls group K3 uses talent yachts to recruit new members at times that members or the entire group stop in the current formation. These talent chants are called K2 looking for K3 (2009) and K3 is looking for K3 (2015).
