Viviana Parravicini was a professor of philosophy and letters, translator, essayist, Italian. Biography

Descendant of the Marquis Giacomo Parravicini of Casanova (1804-1882) who settled in Argentina as consul of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (his son Rinaldo married Rafaela Romero, daughter of the doctor of Juan Manuel de Rosas, parents of the famous Florencio Parravicini); Viviano and his twin brother Pinello Parravicini (1914-2006), baptized in honor of their homonymous medieval ancestors were children of Dr. Raimundo Parravicini, Argentine plenipotentiary minister to the Holy See.

Professor Philosophy and Letters of the University of Buenos Aires taught Italian and Latin in different universities and colleges. He was Secretary General of the National Fund of the Arts and as head of programming for National Radio (Argentina) between 1956-65 was an enthusiastic diffuser of the erudite musical culture. He served as director of the Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires.

He translated theater plays as Enrique IV (Pirandello), Don Juan de Henry de Montherlant and other titles.

The Italian government made him Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 1966 and in 1968 he won the First Prize Gherardo Marone.

He was a jury member in the Konex Award category.
