Sveigðir, Sveigder or Swegde is a legendary Swedish king of the Ynglingar dynasty. Son of Fjölnir, he marries Vana de Vanaheim who gives him a son, Vanlandi.
According to the Ynglingar Saga, Sveigðir travels the world in search of Godheim, the home of the gods. During his journey, he arrives one day in the field of Stein, where stands a huge rock, as big as a house. In the evening, as he prepares to go to sleep, he sees a dwarf sitting at the foot of the rock, who tells him to approach if he wants to see Odin. Drunk, Sveigðir rushes to the rock, which closes behind him. The Ynglingatal describes his fall "in the halls of Sökkmímir where the giants live".
