Christian Leibbrandt (Amsterdam, August 3, 1868 - September 22, 1941) was a Dutch painter. Lifecycle

He was the son of the German Johann Gottfried Leibbrandt and his Dutch wife Jansje Lieneke. In Amsterdam he visited the Quellinus Arts and Crafts School, but eventually he decided to become a shopkeeper. In his spare time, however, he remained active as a painter and draftsman. He also had permission to copy in the Rijksmuseum paintings. Leibbrandt painted mostly still life and self-portraits. In addition, he seems to have been involved in the creation of the ceiling paintings of the first class waiting room of Station Amsterdam Centraal. He lived and worked at Jacob van Lennepstraat 107 in Amsterdam and married Wilhelmina Elizabeth (Mina) de Jager (1873-1920) on October 30, 1897. At her he had three children: Johann Gottfried Leibbrandt, GP in Amsterdam, Anna Maria Leibbrandt and Christian Wilhelm Leibbrandt, psychiatrist in Amersfoort.

From 1906 to 1915 he was friends with artist Theo van Doesburg, who painted at least two portraits of him. In the period 1907-1909, he offered shelter from Doesburg after leaving the parental home without a penny, because his parents would rather not see that he married his former partner, Agnita Feis. In 1920, Leibbrandt's wife died, after which he married Anna Elisabeth Hemker.
