Luis Alfredo Colmenares Chía was a Colombian politician. He was governor of the Department of Arauca and representative to the Chamber by the same department. was murdered by hit men on Monday, October 8, 2001 in the morning while driving in his vehicle north of Bogota. Colmenares became the seventh acting congressman assassinated in 2001 by the violence of the Colombian armed conflict.
