Vitselstek

Beginning of a construction

Vitselstek or fitselstek is a technique for making lems walls.

This technique consists of arranging a skewer of twigs or white roast between a frame of joints and lubricating it with a mixture of loam and straw. The whole can be finished with a white lime layer.

Soldings can also be made in this way. A carcass of light-curved twigs is applied between the beams, which are processed in the same way. This creates a ceiling of parallel hollow cylinders, which are located between the beams. This is done with lime and in addition it works insulating.
