Angel Dotor


Ángel Doter Municio (Argamasilla de Alba, 1898 - 1986) was a writer and historian of Spanish art. Biography

Born in Argamasilla de Alba in 1898, he studied teaching. He was a friend of Guillermo de Torre and collaborated in some of Ultraísmo magazines such as Alfar, Cervantes and Cosmópolis. He wrote some articles in newspapers presenting the new aesthetic and the book Mirador (Madrid: Crítica, 1929). He belonged to the Spanish Association of Friends of Castles, whose Bulletin directed, and collaborated in the Spanish Geographic Magazine. He published numerous books with photographs of castles throughout Spain and his text. Since the fifties he was a correspondent of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. He is also the father of the writer Santiago Dotor (Aguilafuente, Segovia, 1923). He died in 1986.

His work consists mainly of monographs on painters, castles and cathedrals, and some biographical and geographical works. Work
