Desdemona is a character from William Shakespeare's Othello tragedy, written about 1603. Plot of the work

Married to the Moor Othello, with whom he escapes to Cyprus, where he intends to direct the Venetian army. It stands out for being flirtatious and cheeky. Of this personality, Iago convinces Othello that Desdemona tricked him with Casio.

Believing the word of Iago, Othello culminates in a thirst for revenge with his friend Casio and his wife Desdemona, the latter falling dead at the hands of Othello.

His desperation comes when he realizes that his unhealthy jealousy led him to blame and kill his wife for something he never committed.
