Fonda de los Milaneses (San Lorenzo de El Escorial)

The so-called Fonda de los Milaneses, in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, located in what is now called San Antón street in this municipality, is a remarkable example of its civil architecture. It is a rectangular building with four facades and four heights, one and a half of which was raised in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century, the rest of the building being built between 1767 and 1773. Used as a private housing for developers, it was rented as lodging during the Days of the King in the Monastery of the Escorial. In 1777 it was rented to the Company of the Milanese who ended up acquiring it for catering activities. At the end of the nineteenth century it became private homes, a use that is preserved today.
