Isla Encalladora


The island of Encalladora (Illa Encalladora) is an island in the province of Gerona (Spain). It extends elongated in front of the Creus (Cadaqués), separated from this promontory by a narrow and deep channel of 115 meters of width. The island covers an area of ​​5.5 hectares and is entirely rocky. It is integrated within the marine-terrestrial natural park of the Cape of Creus, forming this island an integral nature reserve, reason why all activity in her is prohibited if it is not for scientific ends and previous authorization. It has many small coves and caves of which the artist Salvador Dalí was a frequent visitor.
