Joan Rom (Barcelona, 1954) is a Spanish artist trained at the University of Barcelona, where he studied fine arts, first becoming interested in painting and then going through a more sculptural period, where he used unconventional materials, usually waste materials. or found objects. Although his training was of a pictorial nature, the artist considered that his technique was more typical of a sculptor. It is worth mentioning that in 1998, when Rom was in a good moment in his artistic career, he decided to abandon his activity as an artist to dedicate himself to teaching.
