Triporteur

Triporteur is the French name for a tricycle or motorcycle. Companies such as Juéry specialized in the construction of such tricycles.

In Flanders, the term "triporteur" was taken over in the language of speech. He is also used for a non-motorized three-wheel bicycle. That was a popular means of delivering small orders by bakers, dairy farmers, etc.

The name is probably a combination of tricycle or tricar and carrier. A tripeur usually has a front of a brake or motorcycle, but two rear wheels, between which a loading bin is fitted, but also the reverse variant (two front wheels and one rear wheel) occurs. Triporters have been used in the West in the past, such as the Harley-Davidson Servi-Car, but still in the Middle and Far East.

If a tripdriver is equipped with a heavy motorcycle block (JAP, Indian, Harley-Davidson), one is also a motorcarrier. These motorcarriers were popular in the time that vans for many small businesses were too expensive.
