Bologne-Elk

Bologna-Elk is a historic Australian motorcycle brand.

Bolognese-Elk is a strange Australian brand. In 1921 an advertisement appeared in an Australian magazine for the Coloyn Elk. A week later, the name had already changed to Bologne-Elk. Australian experts do not think it's actually a British Lincoln Elk.

A possible explanation for the different brand names of Australian brands (including cars and lorries) is the import restriction of the Australian government. As a result, no complete motor vehicles can be imported, so they are shipped in parts and assembled on site. As a result, European and American brands are justified by Australian producers.
