Comrades is a French far left group founded by Yann Moulier-Boutang in 1974 and publishing the magazine of the same name. Comrades succeeds Materials for the intervention. The group claims Marxism through Italian operaism, from the workers' autonomy, and is at the origin of an attempt to bring together an autonomous movement in France. Comrades is more particularly influenced by the ideas of the philosopher Toni Negri.

Comrades self-denuded in 1979, the militants then divided on the issue of armed struggle. Some participate with Nathalie Ménigon and members of the Armed Forces for Popular Autonomy (NAPAP) to the creation of Direct Action. In contrast, militants grouped around Yann Moulier-Boutang give up political violence and invest in the Center of Initiative for New Spaces of Freedom (CINEL) and in defense of "Italian political refugees" accused of terrorism . code
