Haua is a Polynesian deity present in Easter mythology. Description

In the mythology of Easter Island, was considered along with Make-Make as the deities that took the birds to the Motu Nui islet; from which the ceremony of Tangata Manu (man-bird) would originate. Haua was a god who lived in Motiro Hiva (Isla Sala and Gómez), place where the birds of Rapa nui come from, as Haua gave them to Make Make after this, transformed into a skull that for days swam through of the ocean, went there to look for them. However the god Haua would almost be forgotten, and at the ceremony of the Tangata Manu only worship would be rendered to Make-Make.
