Hugo Olaerts

Hugo Olaerts (Genk, October 23, 1949) is a former Belgian Flemish-born politician for the Volksunie who was active as an independent accountant. He is also a publicist. Olaerts is married and father of two daughters. Lifecycle

Olaerts was in the Federal Chamber of Representatives from November 24, 1991 to June 12, 1999. In 1991 his election was a rather coincidental result of the apparent work. In the period January 1992 to May 1995, as a result of the existing double mandate, he also had a seat in the Flemish Council. The Flemish Council was the successor of the Culture Council for the Dutch Cultural Community, which was installed on December 7, 1971, and was the forerunner of the current Flemish Parliament.

In 1995, Olaerts was the presenter for the House of Representatives and was re-elected. He was twice in the Finance Committee. During the 49th legislature of the federal chamber, Olaerts arrived in the news with a remarkable attack against former Prime Minister Jean-Luc Dehaene and his framework laws. More generally, he regularly introduced some verses, poetry and aphorisms to parliament.

From 1976 to 2000 he was for the Volksunie City Council member of Genk. In 2000 Olaerts stopped with active politics. To date, he publishes new aforisms and verses on multiple blog sites he takes care of. Bibliography
