José María Bardavío Gracia, born on June 7, 1939 in Zaragoza (Spain). He is a retired university professor and essayist. He was a professor of English philology at the University of Zaragoza until 2009. He has been a fellow of the Council of Europe in Burg Lievenzell; from the American Council of Learned Societies at Yale University; of the Joint Hispanic-American Committee at the University of the Pacific (California); Reader at Strathclyde University (Glasgow); Associate Professor at Columbia University; Dintinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Missouri (Kansas City); and professor hired at the University of Hawaii (Campus de Hilo).
