Klein Bergstein

Klein Bergstein is a villa on the edge of the Dutch village of Ellecom (municipality of Rheden).

The "Klein - Bergstein" villa was built in 1870 by the widow of Ernst van Löben Sels, Henriette Sandrina Swaving, owner of Groot - Bergstein, lying on the hillside opposite Klein - Bergstein, overlooking the Ellecomse Waard en Schuttewaard .

The outskirts of Bergstein originated in the 17th century as a simple farm farm. In 1750 it was demolished by a new owner and rebuilt as a mansion. As a neighbor there were the then ancient farmstead courts, the Court of Tho Oghten, near the Moerascypres. In 1648, this Court, together with, among others, Avergoor and Hof tho Middeldorp, was bought by Forest Holder by Prince Albert II of Orange Nassau and combined with his purchases in Dieren and Spankeren. This is the purpose of realizing a large hunting area here. The present Kastanjelaan was originally the sheep farm for the Court of Tho Oghten and also the way out for Bergstein. Groot-Bergstein is no longer present, it was severely damaged in the Second World War by a V1 and abolished after the war. At the place of the old house Bergstein is the Anne Frank school. The adjacent Klein-Bergstein is, as already mentioned, built on behalf of the owner of Groot-Bergstein. In 1906, the women's Swaving expanded.

In 1955 Klein-Bergstein became a hotel. After that, a number of companies were housed. Currently, weather has just been inhabited.

Small - Bergstein has the status of Municipal Monument. 52° 1′ 49″ NB, 6° 5′ 23″ OL
