Luck of Saavedra

Luck of Saavedra is a district of the city of Badajoz dating from the year 1984. Located in the easternmost part of Badajoz, it has approximately 10,000 inhabitants. In its beginnings it was formed by social housing, all in rent regime, although in these moments are also floors and private promotions. The fundamental problem of the neighborhood is its almost non-existent social infrastructure, having been only thought of as a solution to housing problems. Its most important streets are the avenues Antonio Hernández Gil and Felipe Trigo, the two main arteries of the neighborhood.

This district also has the parish of San Pedro de Alcántara, the Manuel Pacheco school, a park and petanque courts.

The neighborhood's patron saint is San Pedro de Alcántara and its festivities are celebrated in October.

It is the place where the so-called "market" of the city was concentrated on Sundays, which attracts a multitude of people from Spain and Portugal, mainly from the neighboring Portuguese city of Elvas.
