Details was an American magazine for men published monthly by Condé Nast Publications. It focused mainly on fashion, lifestyles, society and politics. Although the title remained with various publishers and publishers since 1982, its final format came from the relaunch in October 2000, following the transfer of the magazine from Condé Nast to its Fairchild Publications division.
Between the last edition in Condé Nast and the first edition in Fairchild, Details was temporarily suspended. This allowed it to be redesigned and strategically repositioned as an exclusive and irreverent fashion magazine for affluent men aged between 20 and 30 years. The total circulation - in kiosks and by subscription - reached approximately 500,000 copies.
Since its relaunch, Details received recognition from other media outlets (including several ASME awards and the Society of Publication Design). The magazine was described as the Vogue for Men, although the men's edition of this publication has also been sold since the relaunch of Details. Its main competitors were the magazines GQ and Esquire. Some of its recurring contributors were Augusten Burroughs and Anderson Cooper.
His last issue was released in December 2015 with actor Eddie Redmayne on his cover. During its last year of circulation, the magazine reached 532,266 subscribers. After closing Details, Condé Nast concentrated on his other men's magazine: GQ.
