Landstraat Noord

Renovated Brinklaan to the right of the new building visible

Landstraat Noord is a small residential area in the heart of Bussum, realized between 2001 and 2010. It is located at the former town hall of Bussum, between the Lammert Major Avenue, the Brinklaan and the Brediusweg. It aims to give the heart of Bussum the appearance of a historic city, giving the houses the style of the early 20th century, which harmonizes this new center part with the existing environment. Background

Before the Second World War, the characteristic port of Bussum, with the tall cast iron Simon Hendrik Veerbrug, formerly belonging to the Brinklaan and the Landstraat, was only intended for pedestrians. In 1939, the municipality decided to mow this port to make way for the current town hall and provisional parking lots. With the Landstraat Noord project, the municipality of Bussum gave a planned urbanization to a decades-long construction site in the center. Architects

Architects are the German office of Rob Krier and Christoph Kohl (Berlin) and the Mulleners & amp; Mulleners from Amsterdam. Krier and Kohl applied their historically oriented urban planning vision to various other places in the Netherlands, including in Helmond (Brandevoort), Roelofarendsveen (De Oevers) and Dalfsen (Waterfront).
