São João do Rio Vermelho is a district of the Florianópolis municipality, capital of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. It was created on August 11, 1831. It covers an area of 32 km² and is located northeast of the island of Santa Catarina, facing the Atlantic Ocean.
