Vogtland circle

The Vogtlander Kreis was an administrative unit in the keynote of Saxony.

After the Ernestinian custody of Saxony had lost the Schmalkaldic War, in the Wittenberger capitulation of May 19, 1547, the Vogtland came to Hendrik IV van Plauen. The family of the Plauen guardians were related to the Reuß family.

After 1559, the area broke through the premises of the offices of Voigtsberg, Pauen, Oelsnitz, Adorf, Neukirchen, Schöneck and Pausa to the "new" Albertine keynote estate, Saxony. In 1569, due to payment problems, the properties became property of the estate authority. After the death of Hendrik VI of Plauen, the title of Mayßen's title is also awarded to the selection estate. The battle for this title (which had a seat in the Reichstag) lasted until 1803. The royal loan with the Guardian land took place in 1575. In 1602, the Saxon territories in the Guardian were administratively united in the Vogtlander Kreis.

From 1656 to 1718 the Kreis made up of Saxony-Zeitz.
