Harri Lorenzi (Corupá, 1949) is a Brazilian agronomic engineer and botanist. In 1979 he graduated from the University of Tennessee with the master's thesis Effects of Common Cocklebur Control Systems on Soybean yields, costs, and returns.
In 1981 he founded Instituto Plantarum in Nova Odessa (São Paulo). He is still working as director. Instituto Plantarum is a botanical research institute with a library, a laboratory, an 8 hectare botanical garden and a herbarium.
Lorenzi is the author of some Portuguese-language books related to Brazilian flora. These richly illustrated books appeared since 1992. Three of the books have been translated into English. With the sale of books, Lorenzi can afford its research institute.
Lorenzi is lid van de American Society of Plant Taxonomists.
