Ţebea is a village in the Transylvania region, in the Romanian district of Hunedoara. The village is located 7 km northwest of Brad. In Ţebea, local carpenter Ursu Horea spoke to his people under an oak, who carried his name until 2005. In that year the oak was blown by a storm. Under the oak of Ţebea, in 1784, the leaders of Romanian farmers gathered to rebel against Hungarian authority. Their main goal was the abolition of the body property. The uprising, led by Horea, was dropped. In 1848, farmers leaders again, under the leadership of Horea's descendant Avram Iancu, gathered under the oak of Ţebea. In the village there is a monument of Avram Iancu, as well as its grave. Ion Buteanu is also buried here. View of the village Literature
