Hasdrubal (grandson of Masinisa)


Asdrúbal was the grandson of Masinisa on the part of mother but Carthaginian by father and birth. In 149 a. C. was named commander of the city when the Roman attack began and adopted forceful measures of resistance. In 148 a. C. Asdrúbal the Beotarca after two triumphs in Neferis, requested the supreme military direction and Asdrúbal was accused of favoring to the enemies by the mediation of his brother-in-law Gulussa; unable to say anything to such an unexpected accusation, was attacked in a tumult and his final fate is uncertain.
