The Internet Generation IPv6 Project in China (CNGI) is a five-year plan initiated by the Government of the People's Republic of China to gain influence in cyberspace with the early implementation of IPv6. In 2006, the United States has almost a third of the theoretical maximum of IPv4 addresses (about 1.2 billion), while China has more broadband Internet users than IPv4 addresses. With the use of IPv6, China hopes to avoid this situation and stand up in relations with the rest of the world.

China plans to publicly demonstrate the CNGI and its IPv6 network at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics. Everything from security cameras, taxis to cameras filming Olympic events will be connected via IPv6, events will be broadcast live over the Internet while cars connected to the network will have a view of the traffic situation. p> change the code
