National Center Match

The National Center Party was an Irish political party founded in 1932 by the four deputies of the Farmers' Party and some independents. Among the leading leaders were Frank MacDermott, deputy for Roscommon and James Dillon, son of John Dillon, the last leader of the Irish Parliamentary Party. In the elections to the Dáil Éireann of 1933 obtained 11 seats and participated in a government of coalition with the Fianna Fáil.

In September 1933 he joined Cumann na nGaedhael and the Army Comrades Association (better known as Blueshirts) to found Fine Gael. Some deputies did not accept the union and continued as independents. And although Frank MacDermot was named party vice president, he differed in some of his party's decisions, such as accepting Ireland's entry into the Commonwealth, resigned and continued in the elections as independent.
