Sidsel Endresen (born June 19, 1952 in Norway) is a jazz singer. He has worked in diverse musical genres besides jazz, including contemporary classical music and multimedia performances, collaborated with Norwegian poets and extensively worked the voice as a solo instrument.

Between 1981 and 1987, Sidsel worked as a singer and co-writer for the "Jon Eberson Group". Together they made five CDs and won two Norwegian Grammy Awards.

In 1989 Sidsel signed for the ECM label where he made 2 CD's as a soloist, "So I Write" (1990) and "Exile" (1994), which earned him international recognition. Both Django Bates, Jon Christensen and Nils Petter Molvær collaborated, and "Exile" with David Darling and Bugge Wesseltoft.

In 1993, in a duet with keyboardist Bugge Wesseltoft, they made 2 CDs - "Nightsong" and "Duplex Ride", both Curling Legs / ACT. "Duplex Ride" won the Norwegian "Grammy" in 1998.

From 1995 to 1999 he made the trio of improvised voices ESE with Elin Rosseland and Eldbjørg Raknes. The trio wrote pieces commissioned for the European festival Vossa Jazz in 1996, NRK in 1997 and made the CD "GACK" (Jazzland / Kemistri 1999).

In 1999, he collaborated with composer Rolf Wallin as soloist and co-composer in the opera of a woman "Lautleben" (played in Last 1999, Festspillene i Bergen 2000, Stockholm 2001 and UK 2001). p>

In 2000 he wrote the music for Runi Langum's "Expedition" film.

Years 2000 to 2002: Directs the project "Undertow" (Jazzland Rec. 2000) with Audun Kleive, Patrick Shaw Iversen, Roger Ludvigsen, Bugge Wesseltoft and Nils Petter Molvær. Tour in Norway and Europe.
