Bor (god)

For other uses of this term, see Bor.

Bor or Bur (Old Norse: Borr) was the son of Buri and the father of Odin, Vili and Ve in Norse mythology. He is mentioned in the Gylfaginning of Snorri Sturluson's prosaic Edda.

Bor is not mentioned again in the prosaic Edda. Odin is occasionally referred to as the Son of Bor, but no further information is given about him.

Bor's role in mythology is not clear and there are no indications that he has been worshiped in the Nordic religion. Bibliography
