Jan Buuc (? - 1389) was Mayor of Sluis and Admiral of the Sea, appointed by Louis of Louisiana. After Philip's naughty Louisiana was succeeded, he became admiral the Flandre. He was the first official admiral of Flanders. Possibly he was a son of Jacob Buuc.
During the Ghent uprising, he knew the intake of Antwerp from 1379 to 1385. Then Buuc made a war against the English. In 1387 he was charged with the convoy of the west fleet. In the Narrow of Calais the fleet was attacked by the English, after which he was captured. The English refused to release him and died in October 1389 in the Tower of London.
