Manuel Lucio Díaz-Marta and Pinilla (Toledo, April 22, 1909-Madrid, December 6, 1998) was an engineer and Spanish socialist politician. Biography

Graduated as a Civil Engineering Engineer from the Central University of Madrid, he expanded his studies in Germany and Switzerland, where he worked as an engineer in the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation and in the Guadiana during the Second Republic. Outstanding member of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE), at the end of the Civil War in 1939 he went into exile in Mexico, where he worked as an engineer until 1961, when he joined the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations. in hydraulic and transport development projects. In the first democratic elections in 1977 after the Franco dictatorship was elected deputy to the Congress by the electoral district of Toledo. Later he was elected in the first and second legislature, senator, also by Toledo. In both chambers he stood out for his work in the commissions of transports, public works and those related to the Tajo-Segura and special transfer on flood problems. He died in Madrid.
