The Rudolfinum

The Rudolfinum is a concert building in the Old Town of the Czech capital Prague. It is one of the most important neo-renaissance buildings in the city. The building, located on the Jan Palach Square on the banks of the Vltava, is the home stage of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. The Rudolfinum is also one of the main stages of the annual Spring Festival in Prague.

The concert hall was designed by the architects Josef Zítek and Josef Schulz. The building was opened on February 8, 1885 and was named after Rudolf of Austria. Between 1918 and 1939, the Rudolfinum was the building of the Czechoslovak parliament. Media files 50° 5′ 22″ NB, 14° 24′ 55″ OL
