Santa Rosa de Agua

Santa Rosa de Agua is a former palafitic settlement of the Añú culture, with 200 years of existence, it is also a fishing community.

In August the Feasts of Santa Rosa de Lima are celebrated with fireworks and a procession of the image of the Virgin over the waters of Lake Maracaibo carrying the image of the Saint in the canoes of the fishermen.

On the shores of Lake Maracaibo, through the wooden walkways, you can find picturesque restaurants on the water where you can taste typical dishes of the local cuisine: fried fish, fillet of stuffed fish, smooth stuffed , mojito or a succulent "cruzao" of fish and seafood. Around the Americo Vespucio square you can see the sales of basket weaving, enea carpets, chinchorros and mangrove figures.
