Abd al-Aziz ibn al Hajjaj ibn Abd-al-Màlik fue an omeya general, first of the caliph Yazid III.

In the reign of Walid II, he helped Yazid III, who had revolted, to recruit forces against the caliph; they gathered soldiers in Damascus, and Abd-al-Aziz marched against Walid. Abbas, brother of Yazid, was on the caliph's side, but was surprised and had to pay homage to Yazid. Shortly after, the general conquered the castle of Bakhra where Walid had retired, to which it stopped and it killed (744). Yazid was then proclaimed caliph.

The city of Homs opposed the new caliph, and local forces marched to Damascus. Yazid sent against these forces two armed groups, which entertained the people of Homs and while Abd-al-Aziz with all his forces attacked and defeated them.

Shortly after Yazid died after designating his brother Ibrahim ibn Al-Walid as heir and Abd al-Aziz as second heir. But Homs refused again to recognize Ibrahim, who on the other hand was not recognized in many places other than in the capital. Ibrahim ordered Abd al-Aziz to besiege Homs, which he did, but withdrew when the forces led by Marwan ibn Muhammad, governor of Armenia and Azerbaijan, arrived in the vicinity of the city. Homs opened the doors to Muhammad.

Ibrahim's forces were defeated in November 744 in Ayn al-Djarr, and Muhammad ibn Marwan entered Damascus where he was proclaimed caliph. As soon as they entered the city, the freedmen of Walid II killed Abd al-Aziz.
