Bataille de Wangen
War between Merovingian brothers.
The battle of Wangen is a conflict between the Alamans and Burgundy in 610 as part of the war between Merovingian brothers. The troops of the kingdom of Burgundy of Thierry II were vanquished by the Alamans of Thibert II after these had devastated the city of Avenches.
The exact location of the clash has not been clearly established by historians: for some, Wangas would be the current Wangen an der Aare. Others believe that it is Niederwangen near Bern because of the presence of burials of fighters going back to this time.
