Gayo Licinio Crassus (tribune of the plebs)

Gaius Licinius Crassus, in Latin Gaius Licinius Crassus, was a Roman politician who held the position of tribune of the plebs in 145 a. C ..

Although it can not be affirmed with certainty, it is believed that he was the son of Gaius Licinius Crassus who occupied the consulate in 168 a. C. According to Cicero and Varro, he was the first of the tribunes of the plebs to make speeches to the people looking at the Forum instead of the Curia, seat of the Senate. However, Plutarco attributes this to Gaius Graco.

He also proposed a law stipulating that, from that moment, to fill vacancies in the priests' colleges, an election should be called in which all the people could vote and not, as was done until then, that they were chosen by the rest of the priests. However, the praetor Gaius Lelio Sapiens opposed the measure and it did not prosper.
