The serialism is a flow in the music of the 20th century with heyday dates from 1947 to 1968. The flow involved the oeuvre of among others Olivier Messiaen, Karel Goeyvaerts, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Hans Werner Henze, Pierre Boulez, Milton Babbitt and Luigi Nono.
Building on the dodecafony of Anton Webern and Arnold Schönberg, the serial technique, which created a coded series of values for all musical parameters (not only for the pitches but also for the dynamics, the pitch and the tone color) as a construction principle underpinning a work. Also see
