Order of Amaranta


The Order of the Amaranth (in English: Order of the Amaranth) is a Masonic, fraternal and charitable organization for Masonic Masters and their wives founded in 1873. Its members must be over 18 years old, men must be Master Masons and women must be related to Freemasons, whether as wives, mothers, daughters, widows, sisters, aunts, or they must have been active members of the International Rainbow Order for Girls or the Daughters of Job for more three years and have been recommended by a master Mason.

In the teachings of the order, its members are reminded of their duties towards God, their country and their peers, they must show, in word and deed, their belief in the golden rule, and they must be in accordance with the principles of the order: Truth, Faith, Wisdom and Charity. The belief in a Supreme Being is a requirement to be part of the organization.

The Order of Amaranta collaborates with the American Diabetes Association, and collects funds that are awarded in the form of grants for researchers. Through their efforts, the order hopes to find a cure for diabetes.
