Beo (motorcycle)

The Beo was a side-track road racing engine from 1978.

The Beo was called BEO Imagine 77 A. It was a revolutionary side-shift combination, built in 1978 by BEAT Schmid and GuidO Sieber for Rolf Biland and Kenny Williams.

The BEO had two-wheel drive and the passenger could just sit in a chair without the usual "turns" to keep the machine on the wheels. Even baker Williams found it unclean; He was ashamed when he stood on the erepodium.

Finally, the FIM decided to set up two separate classes in the 1979 season: B2A for conventional side-shift combinations and B2B for side-wheel steering, fuse control and special wheel suspension.

Biland made a new combination by Louis Christen Racing, in which the drivers sat as in a race car and the baker lay back in the side team as before.
