Menno Bauer (Haarlem, February 13, 1949) is a Dutch painter. His work contains lyrical expressionist features with a lot of color force and emotional lineup.

Bauer grew up in a middle-class family. Despite three artistically gifted uncles on his father's side, his artistic aspirations seemed difficult at home. As a compromise, photography became apparent. Reason that he followed a high school education as a photographer. From 1967 he made reports for various illustrated magazines and broadcast guides. After 1970, the pictures are getting more paintings. Beginning in 1979 he finally chooses painting. As a painter, Bauer is a car actress. For his compositions, he initially put out of art history. In addition, he is interested in ballet performances and stage scenes. Nowadays, common street scenes also form the basis of his figuration. In all the paintings, people and their love stories come in. Mostly short-lived passions that are depicted as a swirling tango of attract and rejection.
