The house of the clock


La casa del reloj was a children's program of Televisión Española broadcast between 1971 and 1974 from Monday to Friday in the afternoon and reached great popularity among Spanish children of the 70s. Format

It was an adaptation of the Playschool space of the BBC.

The program was directed by the director Miguel de la Hoz. It had music by Manuel Gracia and scripts by Lolo Rico, who a decade later would make La bola de cristal, and Encarnación Martínez. He was introduced by Miguel Vila, Maite Mayna, Pedro Meyer, Pepa Palau, Mercedes Ibáñez, Manolo Portillo and Paula Gardoqui.

Throughout the program, manual works were performed, the presenters sang songs related to the program's plot and a small report was broadcast on various topics.

The clock that gave name to the house had a sunflower shape and the most popular characters of the program were: Marta, Poppy and Manzanillo. Marta was a doll, Poppy was a pumpkin and Manzanillo was a little burrito.

The clock house, together with Antena Infantil, Los Chiripitifláuticos and A globo, two balloons, three balloons, are the children's programs most remembered by the children of the sixties and seventies.
