Bulevar Barbès

In the first decade of the twentieth century, trams and the metro built Boulevard

Boulevard Barbès (in French: boulevard Barbès) is a boulevard located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. It was drilled in 1867 in Haussmann's works, in what was originally the southern half of Boulevard Ornano. It takes its name from Armand Barbès, French politician of century XIX. Pass by the old village of Clignancourt, which joins Paris in 1860 and is now the central artery of the Goutte d'Or, one of the main popular areas of Paris. Description Metro Line 4 follows the underground route, stopping at three stations along this line: Marcadet - Poissonniers at the north end of Boulevard Station (also served by Line 12), Chateau Rouge at its center, and Barbès - Rochechouart at its southern end (station is also served by Line 2 crossing the avenue through a bridge).

Considered by the Paris City Council to be uncomfortable, noisy and heavily polluted, Boulevard Barbès has recently undergone a complete refurbishment. This process, called "civilized space" has meant the redistribution of public space in favor of public transport, cyclists and pedestrians, while seeking to improve living conditions and promote the vitality of the boulevard's commercial premises. The remodeling was completed in 2007.
