Colossal Typewriter

The DEC PDP-1 in the Computer History Museum, the computer where the Colossal Typewriter ran. The program ran at the PDP-1 in Bolt, Beranek and Newman (BBN) in December. It was the first time that the program was written by John McCarthy and Roland Silver Colossal Typewriter. 1960.

At that time, both authors were associated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, but it is not clear whether the publisher ran on the TX-0 loaned to MIT by the Lincoln lab, or the PDP-1 donated to MIT in 1961 by Digital Equipment Corporation. There is a "Colossal Typewriter Progra" in the BBN program library and, under the same name, in the DECUS program library as in the BBN-6 (CT). Notes
