Manquehue Avenue

Manquehue Avenue is a road artery of Santiago de Chile, an extension of the street that links the communes of Vitacura and Las Condes, in the east of the city. This long avenue runs between Avenida Francisco Bilbao on the South and Avenida San José María Escrivá de Balaguer on the north.

In 2005, the project to avoid vehicular congestion of the road junction between Apoquindo, Manquehue and Alonso de Córdova avenues came to light, especially during the peak traffic hours in the Sanhattan. After months of work, closure of streets and traffic detours, a tunnel was opened in December 2006 in Manquehue that collapses to pass under Apoquindo. This work considerably reduces congestion in the sector, facilitating a more expeditious displacement.

Between Avenida Apoquindo and Avenida Kennedy there is an important commercial activity for the east of Santiago.
