Newport is a former municipality of Quebec located near Chandler. This port village was founded in 1855. There are beaches and the site Mary Travers (Bolduc). Newport is today a sector of Chandler. History edit code
On June 27, 2001, the municipalities of Newport, Pabos, Pabos Mills and Saint-François-de-Pabos as well as the town of Chandler joined together to form a new city referred to as Pabos; May 4, 2002, the latter was changed to that of Chandler. Notes and edit the code
