Mien Abbo-Wenneker

Willemina Martina (Mien) Wenneker (Den Helder, February 14, 1887 - The Hague, September 7, 1973) was known as Mien Abbo-Wenneker. She was the mother of, among others, Pim Lier, a alleged half-brother of Juliana of the Netherlands.

She was born in the village of Helder, which would later be called Den Helder. Already in the first decade of the twentieth century, Wenneker, while working in a hotel, has become acquainted with Hendrik van Mecklenburg-Schwerin, the husband of the Dutch princess, Queen Wilhelmina. The child of Wenneker on November 30, 1907 in Amsterdam, Christina Margaretha (passed away in 1945), would be the first outlaw child Prins Hendrik had with her.

Wenneker married Amsterdam on April 15, 1909, with her uncle Cornelis Abbo, a marriage that has undoubtedly been controversial considering the family band. Abbo was the brother of Wennekers mother, Maria Wenneker-Abbo (1860-1907). At this marriage, Abbo Miens recognized daughter Christina Margaretha, who now also called Abbo. Also during the marriage of Cornelis Abbo and Mien Wenneker one child was born, for which there were indications that Hendrik was the father. That was Edith Maria (July 22, 1910 - December 25, 1996). Cornelis Abbo died on 10 May 1913 in Den Dolder.

Hendrik's fourth child is known at Mien Wenneker, Pim Lier. He was born in The Hague on July 22, 1918. A little year later, Mien Wenneker married Jan Derk Lier, who recognized Pim Lier as his son. From the marriage of Lier and Wenneker, two children are believed to be probably Jan Derk Lier. By contrast, the twins Alida Willemina Martina and Maria Suzanna Cornelia (24 June 1922) are regarded as Prins Hendrik's offspring.

For the two eldest daughters, son Pim, and the twin daughters, Wenneker of the Royal House received a reimbursement of the education costs.

Wenneker died in 1973 at the age of 86 without testimony about her relationship with Prince Hendrik. Her husband Jan Derk Lier died a half year later, January 13, 1974 in The Hague. Literature
